You need space to talk about your situation in full.
You need support that doesn’t end when the session ends.
You need to be around women who understand the emotional complexity of this role without needing a long explanation first.
And sometimes, you need to step outside of your everyday life long enough to finally hear yourself clearly again.
That’s what this retreat is..
Stepmom Retreat was created for the stepmom who is done sifting through online advice alone and is longing to be surrounded by women who truly understand.
For four days, you’ll step into a space centered entirely around you.
Because sometimes the biggest shift isn’t hearing one more piece of advice.
It’s being able to bring your real situation to the table. Your relationship dynamics, your resentment, your confusion, your hopes, your fears, your questions, and finally have the time, support, and expert guidance to work through it in a way that actually applies to you.
Inside this retreat, you won’t be one woman in a crowd of many.
You’ll be one of 20.
You’ll be known.
You’ll be supported.
You’ll have time to go deeper.
And you’ll be surrounded by women who understand that stepmom struggles are rarely simple, and never one-size-fits-all.
Because this role doesn’t just ask for information.
It asks for long-term emotional endurance, self-trust, clarity, and support.
And those things are much easier to build when you’re no longer trying to build them alone.
Most stepmoms don’t need one more generic reminder to “communicate better” or “set boundaries.”
They need the kind of support that helps those things finally become real.
Stepmom Retreat is designed to help you move from surviving your role to feeling steady inside it.
It’s about finally having the space to slow down, look honestly at what’s been weighing on you, and then stay in the work long enough to actually do something about it.
Not just to name the patterns, tension, or pain points, but to be immersed in the coaching, conversations, and personalized support that help you untangle them. To learn the tools, practice the shifts, and begin building a stepmom role that feels clearer, stronger, and more sustainable when you return home.
And because this retreat is collaborative, and rooted in community by design, that transformation won’t happen alone.
It will happen in daily conversations.
In reflection.
In small-group coaching.
In moments of recognition.
In the relief of realizing you don’t have to explain every part of your experience to be understood.
You’ll leave with more than memories.
You’ll leave with language for what you’ve been feeling.
Tools for what you’ve been facing, and will continue to face.
And relationships that can keep reminding you who you are long after the retreat ends.
Set on 50 private acres in Northern Los Angeles, Stepmom Retreat is designed to help you step out of the noise of everyday life and enter a space entirely centered around learning how to move through stepmom life with more clarity, confidence, and peace.
For four days, Oak Canyon Ranch becomes our perfect stepmom bubble. One where you can soften, reflect, be honest, be supported, and finally give your full attention to the parts of yourself and your stepmom role that have been asking for care.
This is not a packed schedule meant to overwhelm you.
And it’s not a passive, sit-and-listen kind of retreat either.
It’s a thoughtfully curated experience that blends personalized coaching, meaningful conversation, nervous system support, reflection, and real rest.
Intimate coaching and research-backed teaching rooted in Stepmomming’s Forever Formula 6-step curriculum
Daily small-group discussions where you can bring your real-life situation to the table and get advice specific to your family and needs
Built-in journaling and reflection time to process what’s surfacing, so you can get to the root, find real answers, and create meaningful change
Gentle morning yoga to help you ground, reset, and reconnect with yourself
Quiet moments and organic conversations with women who truly understand
Beautiful accommodations, thoughtful details, and the kind of environment that helps you exhale
And yes, there will be a real table.
A long wooden table tucked beneath the trees, where meals are shared, conversations unfold, walls come down, and women who have felt alone in this role remember what it feels like to belong.
That was part of the magic of this place from the beginning.
Because Stepmom Retreat is about more than learning something new. It’s about being in the kind of environment where the right conversations can finally happen—slowly, honestly, and in full.
Everything about this all inclusive experience is meant to support that.
Once you arrive, your only job is to be here.
To show up.
To be open.
To be supported.
To join the table.
October 8–11, 2026 | Oak Canyon Ranch | Agoura Hills, California
For four days and three nights, you’ll step away from the noise of everyday life and into a luxury retreat setting designed to help you exhale. Nestled on 50 private acres in Northern Los Angeles, Oak Canyon Ranch offers the kind of beauty, quiet, and spaciousness that makes it easier to slow down, open up, and reconnect with yourself. You’ll stay in a beautifully cozy cabin with either single or double occupancy, depending on the experience you choose.
From the moment you arrive, everything is taken care of so you can fully settle in and be present. Your time here is designed to feel effortless: nourishing meals, drinks and snacks throughout the day, every experience thoughtfully planned, and even small personal touches will be waiting for you throughout your stay. Here, you can step out of the role of managing, and into the experience of being cared for.
This retreat is not designed for you to sit in the back of the room, take a few notes, and head home hoping something sticks. Stepmom Retreat is an immersive coaching experience built entirely around Stepmomming’s research-backed curriculum, designed to help you understand what’s weighing on you, uncover what needs healing, and begin practicing the tools that will support you long after you leave. You won’t just learn about your struggles, you’ll be coached through them, in real time, with personalized, ongoing guidance throughout the retreat.
Because stepmom life is rarely simple, the support you receive shouldn’t be surface-level either. Each day, you’ll have the chance to bring your real questions, relationship dynamics, emotional patterns, and role-specific challenges into small-group discussions, where there is time and space to go deeper. This is where the retreat becomes deeply personal and where the tools you’re learning start becoming truly yours.
Stepmom Retreat is designed to support not just your mind, but your whole nervous system. Alongside coaching and conversation, your days will include guided journaling, reflection time, gentle morning yoga, and space to enjoy the beauty of the property, whether that looks like hiking, soaking in the hot tub, lingering over a meal, or simply sitting still for the first time in a long time. Every part of the experience is meant to help you soften, settle, and hear yourself more clearly.
This retreat is limited to just 20 stepmoms so that the experience can stay personal, spacious, and deeply connected. In a group this small, you won’t get lost in the crowd or feel like just another attendee. You’ll be known, supported, and genuinely seen. The intimacy of this space is part of what makes the transformation possible, and part of what makes the friendships formed here so meaningful long after the retreat ends.
Hi, I’m Kristen Skiles!
I am a Certified Stepparent Coach, founder of Stepmomming.com, host of the chart-topping podcast Stepmomming Made Easy, and author of the 5-star rated book of the same name, Stepmomming Made Easy. I am on a mission to help overwhelmed stepmoms feel seen, supported, and equipped with the tools they need to navigate stepfamily life with confidence.
With a blended family that includes a 16-year-old stepdaughter, I know firsthand the complexities of stepmom life—from overcoming insecurities as the second spouse, to learning tough lessons in shared parenting, and navigating my own childhood as a stepchild in multiple blended family dynamics. I even shared a home (and a business!) with my stepdaughter’s mom for a season, giving me a uniquely compassionate and real-world perspective on co-parenting.
My coaching, resources, and debut book Stepmomming Made Easy are all built on the belief that while stepmomming is hard, it doesn’t have to be miserable. My practical, validating approach has been featured on TODAY, The Atlantic, Newsweek, The Boston Globe, Texas Today, and Scary Mommy.

Oak Canyon Ranch was chosen because it offers more than a beautiful backdrop. It gives us room to create an experience that feels spacious, intimate, and deeply restorative.
Across the 50-acre property, you’ll find a swimming pool and spa, a welcome center and game room, shared dining spaces, outdoor lounges, private walking paths, and a calming creek. There are places to gather, places to wander, and places to be alone with your thoughts when you need a quiet moment.

The beauty of Oak Canyon Ranch is that rest and exploration can both exist here.
You may find yourself starting the morning with gentle yoga, walking one of the private trails, sitting beside the creek, lingering in the hot tub, or settling into an outdoor lounge with your journal after a meaningful conversation.
Nothing about this retreat is designed to feel rushed. The property gives you permission to move slowly, breathe deeply, and reconnect with yourself in a setting that feels completely removed from everyday life.

Stepmom Retreat is best for the stepmom who is ready to experience support in real life, to sit across the table from women who can look her in the eyes and say, “I get it.”
If you’ve been craving a place where you can feel seen, heard, and genuinely connected, not just as a stepmom, but as a woman, this retreat was created with you in mind.
Both! Stepmom Retreat is not based on how long you’ve been in the role. It’s based on whether you’re ready to be supported more deeply inside it. Whether you are just beginning or have been living stepmom life for a long time, you are welcome here if you’re ready for honest reflection, meaningful connection, and personalized support.
Yes, Stepmom Retreat welcomes all stepmoms!
Whether you are a full-time stepmom, long-distance stepmom, childless stepmom, stepmom with children of your own, LGBTQ+ stepmom, stepmom in an interracial stepfamily, new stepmom, experienced stepmom, married stepmom, or partnered stepmom, you belong in this conversation.
This retreat was created to honor the many different ways stepmom life can look while also making space for the emotional threads so many stepmoms share.
You are still welcome here.
If you are in a committed relationship with someone who has a child with someone else, you’re a stepmom. You do not need to be legally married, officially called “stepmom,” or perfectly sure where you fit yet in order to belong in this space.
In fact, if you’re still figuring out your role, this retreat may be especially supportive. It can give you language, clarity, community, and tools before the uncertainty becomes something you feel like you have to carry alone.
No. Stepmom Retreat is a solo experience created specifically for stepmoms.
While your partner and relationship may absolutely be part of what we discuss in the coaching and reflection work, this retreat is designed to give you the space to focus on your own role, needs, emotions, clarity, confidence, and support system.
This is your time to step away, be supported by other women in your shoes, and reconnect with yourself without having to manage anyone else’s experience.
Not at all. In fact, part of the beauty of Stepmom Retreat is that you don’t need to arrive already knowing someone to feel deeply connected while you’re there.
This retreat was created to bring stepmoms together in real life and to surround you with women who truly understand what this role feels like from the inside.
You can come alone and still be in the right place. The experience is intentionally designed to help connections unfold naturally through the shared spaces, small-group discussions, coaching, reflection, and the kind of conversations that turn strangers into people you keep in your corner long after the weekend ends.
You will be invited into meaningful conversation, reflection, and small-group support, but you are always allowed to participate in the way that feels right for you. Some women may feel ready to share openly. Others may need time to listen, process, and ease into the space. Both are welcome.
The goal is not to pressure anyone into telling more than they want to tell. The goal is to create an environment where you feel supported enough to be honest with yourself, and received without judgment if you choose to be honest with others.
During the retreat, we’ll focus on two equally important parts of your stepmom life: what you’re navigating now, and what you want to create next.
First, we’ll make space for the here and now. The real situations, relationship dynamics, emotional patterns, and recurring conflicts that are creating stress in your life today. This matters because stepmom struggles rarely exist in isolation. The tension with your partner, uncertainty around your role, boundary challenges, resentment, grief, pressure, and loneliness often overlap in ways that generic advice can’t fully address.
Then, we’ll shift toward the future: what you want your stepmom role to actually become. Not the version shaped by guilt, fear, pressure, or everyone else’s expectations, but the version that feels authentic, sustainable, and rooted in self-trust. Through coaching, reflection, and guided conversation, you’ll begin identifying what needs to change, what needs to be released, what needs to be strengthened, and what tools will help you move toward that vision in real life.
Rather than only teaching these concepts in a classroom-style format, we’ll bring them into real conversation. You’ll have opportunities to reflect on how each pillar shows up in your actual life, discuss what feels complicated or unclear, and receive personalized coaching and support around the dynamics you’re navigating at home.
The goal is not just to understand the framework. But to leave knowing how to put it into practice in your everyday life back home.
Stepmom Retreat will take place October 8–11, 2026 at Oak Canyon Ranch in Agoura Hills, California.
Check-in and registration will be open from 4:00–5:30 PM on Thursday, October 8.
Check-out will be at 10:30 AM on Sunday, October 11.
The two best airport options are Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) is approximately 50 minutes from Oak Canyon Ranch and is typically the easier, smaller airport experience with less congestion.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is approximately 1 hour from the property and usually offers more flight options, though it may come with more traffic depending on the time of day.
Both airports are reasonable options, so the best choice will likely depend on your flight availability, pricing, and personal travel preferences.
Transportation to and from Oak Canyon Ranch is not included in your retreat ticket.
However, if there is enough interest, we will help coordinate an optional shared shuttle or carpool van from BUR and/or LAX around 3:00 PM on Thursday, October 8. With enough attendees participating, this option may be more affordable than taking an Uber or renting a car individually.
After you reserve your spot, you’ll have the opportunity to let me know whether you’re interested in shared transportation so we can explore the best option for the group.
No. Stepmom Retreat was intentionally designed as a fully immersive experience, not a drop-in event.
So much of the magic will happen in the in-between moments: the early morning grounding, the late evening conversations, the meals shared around the table, and the quiet connections that build over several days. To protect the intimacy, flow, and emotional safety of the group, all attendees are required to stay on property for the full retreat experience.
There are also venue and capacity guidelines we need to honor, which means we’re unable to offer day passes or partial attendance.
Your ticket includes 4 days and 3 nights of luxury cabin accommodations, all meals, drinks, and snacks throughout the retreat, all coaching sessions, small-group discussions, guided reflection, morning yoga, retreat activities, and the thoughtful personal touches prepared for you throughout the weekend.
Your retreat ticket does not include airfare, transportation to and from Oak Canyon Ranch*, personal purchases, or any optional off-site expenses.
*We may coordinate an optional shared shuttle or carpool option from nearby airports if there is enough attendee interest, but transportation is not included in the retreat ticket price.
Yes. If you and a friend would like to share a double-occupancy cabin, you’ll both need to select the same cabin number when purchasing your retreat tickets.
For example, if one of you reserves Cabin 12, the other person should also select Cabin 12 at checkout. Cabins are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend coordinating your purchase timing as closely as possible.
If someone else selects the second spot in that cabin first, they will become your assigned roommate for the retreat.
Yes. In the weeks leading up to the retreat, you’ll receive a preferences form where you can share dietary restrictions and needs such as allergies, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or other medically necessary accommodations. We will do our best to thoughtfully plan meals that make attendees feel cared for and considered.
Because this is an intimate retreat with a shared menu, we may not be able to accommodate every individual food preference or personal taste but true dietary restrictions will be taken seriously as part of the planning process.
No. Retreat tickets are non-refundable.
Because Stepmom Retreat is an intimate, limited-capacity experience with only 20 spots available, each reservation directly impacts lodging, meals, retreat materials, planning, and the overall structure of the weekend. Once your ticket is purchased, your cabin space is held specifically for you and cannot be guaranteed to be resold if your plans change.
We encourage you to carefully review the retreat dates, travel logistics, and financial commitment before purchasing your ticket.
We know this is a big decision and spots will fill up quickly. If you need to reach out before signing up, please don’t hesitate! Email us at [email protected] for the fastest support during weekends and after hours. We’re happy to help! Or, you can schedule an intake call here to discuss the retreat more in depth.
